TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RECIPE: Does anyone remember those microwavable pizza bites of the 80s? I can't be the only one that ate four or five every day as an after school snack, come on!

 

Well, guess what. These are sooooo much better! And easy to make!

 

They would be perfect for a kid’s pizza party because you can fill them individually with a vast array of toppings. They’d also be perfect as an appetizer with a glass of wine. In fact, I don’t really know of a time that a hot cheese filled cube is not appropriate, do you?

Having kids myself that's where my first thought goes to, but you should actually try to make these cubes as appetizer. You'll surprise your guests.

 

To make these Cubes you can either used the classic Pizza Dough Recipe or buy the Refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet Rolls.

 

As you can see you'll have all recipes here ready to use ;)

 

For this Pizza Cubes recipe I decided to use the Refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet Rolls. Trust me, it's actually much better in this case. They will turn out beautifully in just over an hour, start to finish.

If you make the Dough yourself then, make the Dough ahead of time and freeze it, and use it frozen.

 

All you have to do is to choose the filling. I like simple things, and I kept it simple with, Pizza Sauce and Mozzerella Cheese and a bunch of Olives. But you can put Sauteed Mushrooms, Goat Cheese, Pepperoni, bits of Sausage and even a shoe. The options are endless!

    Refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet Rolls

    ( this will make your life easier )

     

    Pizza Sauce

    ( Recipe Here )

     

    300gr Mozzarella

    ( Thinly Sliced )

     

    Sliced Ripe Olives

     

    Black Pepper

     

     

     

    Options:

     

    Cherry Tomatoes

    ( instead of Pizza Sauce )

    10.5oz Mozzarella

    ( Thinly Sliced )

     

    Sliced Ripe Olives

     

    Black Pepper

     

     

     

    Options:

     

    Cherry Tomatoes

    ( instead of Pizza Sauce )




  • Cups:

     

     

     

    Refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet Rolls

    2 Large Mozzarella

    ( Thinly Sliced )

     

    Sliced Ripe Olives

     

    Black Pepper

     

     

     

    Options:

     

    Cherry Tomatoes

    ( instead of Pizza Sauce )




 

 

 

Directions:


 

01 - Heat oven to 180C / 350F.

 

02 - Lightly butter, oil or spray with cooking spray and pan.

 

03 - Cut the dough sheet in long slices about 40x10cm / 16x4in.

 

04 - Place some ingredients in a small square over the bottom of the dough slice. Fold the dough over the ingredients firmly pressing to seal. And repeat.

 

05 - Bake for 30 minutes or until deep golden brown.

 

 

 

Method 02:


 

01 - Place all ingredients on a dough sheet.

 

02 - Cover with a second sheet.

 

03 - Place more ingredients on the second sheet and again cover with a third dough sheet.

 

04 - Bake for 30 minutes or until deep golden brown.

 

05 - Cool 15 minutes before serving. Cut into squares. Serve.
