TRADITIONAL AMERICAN RECIPE: They. Are. Everything! Everything I tell ya!! Soft, golden, buttery, squishy, chewy, yeasty, sweet, dinner roll.
I can smell them as I type and they’ve been out of the oven for an hour. There are only a few homemade yeast roll recipes that I can make being that yeast hates me. Seriously it does, I say it all the time.
This recipe and my grandma barb’s yeast roll recipe are my favs! They always come out so beautiful and leave me feeling like a BOSS honey!! And y’all I really get to thinking I’m all that when I can whip up a big homemade spread AND some addictive scratch-made dinner rolls to boot. Work chile!
If you aren’t very good at making homemade dinner rolls then try out this recipe. It’s quick, easy and uses simple ingredients that I’m willing to bet that you have in your kitchen right now. Oh yeah and it doesn’t even require a bread machine.

3.75 cups All-Purpose Flour
0.5 cup Water
( Warm 45C / 110F )
0.5 cup Milk
( room temperature )
0.33 cup Butter
( softened )
0.33 cup White Sugar
0.25 cup Butter
( to spread )
1 Egg
1 package Active Dry Yeast
1 teaspoon Salt
Directions:
01 - In a small bowl sift the Flour.
02 - Very slowly, add the Water and then the Milk.
03 - Now, combine the Butter, Egg, Sugar, Salt and Yeast and knead until you have a smooth Dough.
04 - Place the Dough onto a lightly floured surface.
05 - Divide the Dough in half.
06 - Roll each half into a 30cm / 12in circle, spread the Butter over the Dough surface.
07 - Cut each circle into 8 Wedges.
08 - Roll each Wedges starting from the wider end and roll gently but tightly.
09 - Place point side down on an ungreased cookie sheet.
10 - Cover with clean kitchen towel and put in a warm place, let rise 1 hour.
11 - Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200C / 400F.
12 - Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden. Serve.
