TRADITIONAL AMERICAN RECIPE: A grilled cheese sandwich is a grilled cheese sandwich . I mean, it's the first meal that most of us learn how to cook at home by ourselves. Take a slice of Cheese and place it on a grill. Finished.
It's the perfect midnight snack or soup-dipper. It's great for kids but is never turned down by an adult. It's salty, gooey, crisp, buttery, and comforting in all the right ways.
Ok ok... cheese is not as healthy as they want you to believe. But... it's tasty.
You know before you even bite into a grilled cheese sandwhich whether it's going to be transcendental or not. Look at a perfect one, and cheese slowly oozes from the edges. The bread's face is an even golden-brown that's suffused with butter. Pick it up, and you can feel the butter in the bread, while the crust is crisp yet flexes ever-so-slightly, revealing a layer of tender crumb underneath.
Anyway, remember that a good sandwhich could be taken to the next level if you use a some hearty Italian or French bread. One that isn’t soft and that doesn’t easily get soggy.

2 cupsCheddar Cheese
( grated sharp )
8 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
( softened )
1 cup Parmesan Cheese
( Finely Grated )
Directions:
01 - Spread each slice of bread ( on both sides ) with butter.
02 - Place four slices in large skillet and cook over medium heat until turning light golden ( about 2 - 3 minutes ).
03 - Sprinkle the slices with Parmesan Cheese and flip over.
04 - Sprinkle toasted sides of bread with half quantity of cheddar and cook until it melts and turning brown.
05 - Once the Cheddar is melted, turn 2 of the slices onto the other two and press together to sandwich.
06 - Transfer to cutting board and repeat with remaining ingredients.
07 - Allow sandwiches to rest about 3 minutes, then cut in half and serve.
