How To Make Homemade Italian Latte ( Say Goodbye to Starbucks ) Recipe

TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RECIPE: I absolutely love that creamy dollop of foam topping my morning starbucks latte or cappuccino. My abit hasn't changed after discovering this recipe, but at least I'm saving money when at 7 or 9pm I want to drink a Latte but can't be bothered to take off my pijamas.

Did you know that you can make milk foam at home, too, without needing to buy a fancy espresso maker machine, that cost something in between A LOT and a KIDNEY?

Making milk foam in the microwave is a two step process: first you shake the milk in a jar to create foam, then you microwave it for a few seconds to stabilize the foam. Without the microwaving step, the milk foam will quickly collapse back into the milk.

As a bonus, you also get some warm milk to pour in your coffee!

  • Metric:

    500gr Whole Milk

    2 double shot Espresso Coffee
( Made with Italian Coffee Machine )

  • Imperial:

    1.1lb Whole Milk

    2 double shot Espresso Coffee
( Made with Italian Coffee Machine )

  • Cups:

    2 Cups Whole Milk

    2 double shot Espresso Coffee
( Made with Italian Coffee Machine )

Directions:

01 - Start Preparing the 2 double shot Espresso Coffee using a regular italian coffee machine called Moka Machine.

02 - Fill a jar with as much milk as you normally use in your coffee, in this case we use 1 cup each person, but no more than halfway full so there's room to make some foam.

03 - Put the lid on, shake as hard as you can until the Milk is froth and has roughly doubled in volume, 30 to 60 seconds.

04 - Take the lid off the jar. Microwave uncovered for 30 seconds. The foam will rise to the top of the Milk and the heat from the microwave will help stabilize it.

05 - Pour the warm Milk into your coffee and spoon the Milk foam on top. Enjoy.

Notes:

- Use the foam right away! Half of it will start dissolving after a few minutes.
