TRADITIONAL BRITISH RECIPE: If you've never tried a Fish Cake, you've been missing so much. With this Fish Cake Recipe you'll be able to create an alternative way to add Fish into your diet.

Even if you're not a Fish eater, all the other ingredients will help you hiding the flavour of Cod. Even your pickiest child won't mind eating these wonderful Fish Cakes.

Fish Cakes can be found everywhere around the world, every country has their own. In the west we tend to mix White Fish with Potatoes, Eggs, Onions and some Herbs.

Cook them well crunchy and serve them with the Best Homemade Tartar Sauce!

    680gr Cod
    ( cooked )

    3 Large Potatoes
    ( diced, boiled and drained about 500gr Mashed )

    2 Small Eggs

    54gr Sour Cream

    42gr Butter
    ( softened )

    17gr Parsley
    ( fresh and chopped )

    3 Green Onions
    ( sliced )

    4gr Sea Salt

    2gr Dry Ground Mustard

    Freshly Ground Black Pepper
    ( to taste )

    Oil
    ( for frying )

    Breadcrumbs
    ( Panko if available )

    Tartar Sauce




  • Imperial:

     

     

     

    23.98oz Cod
    ( cooked )

    3 Large Potatoes
    ( diced, boiled and drained about 17.63oz Mashed )

    2 Small Eggs

    1.90oz Sour Cream

    1.48oz Butter
    ( softened )

    0.59oz Parsley
    ( fresh and chopped )

    3 Green Onions
    ( sliced )

    0.14oz Sea Salt

    0.07oz Dry Ground Mustard

    Freshly Ground Black Pepper
    ( to taste )

    Oil
    ( for frying )

    Breadcrumbs
    ( Panko if available )

    Tartar Sauce




  • Cups:

     

     

     

    2 slices of Cod
    ( cooked )

    3 Large Potatoes
    ( diced, boiled and drained about 2 cups Mashed )

    2 Small Eggs

    4.5 tablespoons Sour Cream

    3 tablespoons Butter
    ( softened )

    4.5 tablespoons Parsley
    ( fresh and chopped )

    3 Green Onions
    ( sliced )

    1.5 teaspoon Sea Salt

    0.75 teaspoon Dry Ground Mustard

    Freshly Ground Black Pepper
    ( to taste )

    Oil
    ( for frying )

    Breadcrumbs
    ( Panko if available )

    Tartar Sauce




 

 

 

Directions:


 

01 - Let the Cod cool completely.

02 - With exeption for the Breadcrumbs, place all ingredients in a bowl and mash until thoroughly combined.

03 - From the Mixture, make 8 equal Patties.

04 - Roll the Patties in the Breadcrumbs.

05 - Refrigerate the Patties for 60-120 minutes.

06 - Heat some Oil in a non-stick pan.

07 - And fry the Patties on each side for about 4 minutes or until lightly browned.

08 - Carefully remove the Cakes from the pan and place on some kitchen paper in order to remove the Oil. Serve immediately with Homemade Tartar Sauce.





Notes:


- STEP 07: do not cover the pan.
