TRADITIONAL JAPANESE RECIPE: Omurice ( オムライス ) is Rice cooked with Ketchup and wrapped with Eggs. Omurice ( オムライス ) isn't exactly Japanese, it's a 'western styled' japanese rice dish that was created in the early 1900s, and for over 100 years, this simple yet tasty dish has pleased Japanese of all ages, especially kids.
History:
Omurice is said to have originated around the turn of the 20th century at a western-style restaurant in Tokyo's Ginza district called Renga-tei, inspired by chakin-zushi. The dish was brought to Korea and Taiwan, and it is popular cuisine.[6] It is a fixture on gimbap restaurant menus throughout South Korea, where it is rendered as "오므라이스 (omeuraiseu)" in Hangul.

Metric:
350gr Cooked Rice
1 Small Onion
42gr Ketchup
40gr Green Peas
( frozen )
14gr Butter
5gr Oil
Salt and Pepper
( to taste )
Egg Crepe:
2 Eggs
5gr Oil
Salt
Cups:
2 cups Cooked Rice
1 Small Onion
3 tablespoons Ketchup
0.25 cup Green Peas
( frozen )
1 tablespoon Butter
1 teaspoon Oil
Salt and Pepper
( to taste )
Egg Crepe:
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Oil
Salt
Directions:
01 - Cut the Onion finely.
02 - Melt the Butter and add Oil in a frying pan at medium heat.
03 - Add the Onion and cook until it has become translucent, without burning the butter.
04 - Add cooked Rice to the frying pan and cook mixing for 3 minutes.
05 - Season the Rice with Salt and Pepper.
06 - Make room in the frying pan and add the Ketchup. Cook only the Ketchup for 30 seconds.
07 - Mix the Rice and Ketchup and fry together for 2 minutes.
08 - Now add the frozen Green Peas and cook until ready.
09 - Place half of the cooked Ketchup-Rice into a bowl, press lightly, and unmold on a plate. This should be enough to make a small rice 'hill' on your dish (do the same for the other serving).
10 - Beat the Eggs and add a pinch of Salt.
11 - Heat another frying pan with half Oil.
12 - Pour half Egg Mixture on the hot frying pan and make a crepe-like thin round egg sheet.
13 - Cover the molded Rice with the Egg Crepe.
14 - Top with Ketchup. Serve.
