TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RECIPE: Planning is easy, executing is the hardest thing. If you want Lasagne but don't have time to cook, this is what you need. This modern version of the traditional Italian Lasagne is a 30-Minute compromise. Skillet Lasagna is one of my favourite rrecipes.

Skillet Lasagna boasts all of the flavor and cheesy goodness of regular lasagna without all of the layering and the lengthy cooking time. Instead, you combine the ingredients in a skillet and quickly cook them using a method that can only be described as Hamburger Helper-esque.

    500gr Beef Mince
    ( Beef mixed with Pork is better )

    350gr Tomato Sauce
    ( divided into 2 separate cups )

    75gr Red Wine
    ( you can also use white wine )

    Dry Mozzarella Cheese

    4-6 Sheets Fresh Lasagne Pasta

    0.25 Carrot
    ( chopped )

    0.25 Onion
    ( chopped )

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    Grated Parmesan Cheese

    Celery Leaves
    ( chopped )

    2 Bay Laurel Leaves

    Salt

    Nutmeg

    Black Pepper

    1.1lb Beef Mince
    ( Beef mixed with Pork is better )

    12.3oz Tomato Sauce
    ( divided into 2 separate cups )

    2.6oz Red Wine
    ( you can also use white wine )

    Dry Mozzarella Cheese

    4-6 Sheets Fresh Lasagne Pasta

    0.25 Carrot
    ( chopped )

    0.25 Onion
    ( chopped )

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    Grated Parmesan Cheese

    Celery Leaves
    ( chopped )

    2 Bay Laurel Leaves

    Salt

    Nutmeg

    Black Pepper




  • Cups:

     

     

     

    2 cups Beef Mince
    ( Beef mixed with Pork is better )

    2 cups Tomato Sauce
    ( divided into 2 separate cups )

    0.25 cup Red Wine
    ( you can also use white wine )

    Dry Mozzarella Cheese

    4-6 Sheets Fresh Lasagne Pasta

    0.25 Carrot
    ( chopped )

    0.25 Onion
    ( chopped )

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    Grated Parmesan Cheese

    Celery Leaves
    ( chopped )

    2 Bay Laurel Leaves

    Salt

    Nutmeg

    Black Pepper




 

 

 

Directions:


 

01 - Chop the Onion, Carrots and Celery. Set aside.

02 - Place the Beef in the skillet and cook over medium hea for about 5 minutes.

 

03 - Slowly add Carrot, Onion, Wine, Nutmeg, Salt and Black Pepper over medium heat until the vegetables start going soft and the Wine has evaporated completely.

04 - Add the Tomato Sauce, 2 Bay Laurel leaves, some water or extra wine and cook for 5-10 minutes.

05 - Place the Lasagne Sheet the way you can inside the Skillet. Don't worry if you break the sheet, you'll have to.


06 - Add another cup of Tomato Sauce and cook for 5 minutes.

07 - Top with Dry Mozzarella Cheese, Parmesan Cheese, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Bake for 25-35 minutes at 200C / 390F.

Notes:


 

- Don't use fresh Mozzarella as it's full of water, it could reduce your Skillet Lasagne into a muddy pasta-mess you don't want to eat.

- Use No-Boil Lasagne Sheet for best result, or boil your sheets 5 minutes before placing them in the skillet.

I made this recipe exactly as it is written, although I just put it in the oven and o my god wasn't it good? I love it because it's easy. It's a very quick way of making cake pasta but still good though.
