TRADITIONAL BRITISH RECIPE: Easier than pie and heartier than crumble, this sweet or savoury oven-baked dish is pure comfort. Forget the hassle of making pastry - top all sorts of fruit with a tender sweet scone mixture to create colourful and delicious fruit cobblers.

    1 cup of Fruit for every 2 people
    ( Slices )

    400gr Sugar
    ( divided )

    245gr Milk

    140gr All-Purpose Flour

    60gr Unsalted Butter

    15gr Lemon Juice

    8gr Baking Powder

    Pinch of Salt




  • Imperial:

     

     

     

    1 cup of Fruit for every 2 people
    ( Slices )

    0.8oz Sugar
    ( divided )

    8.6oz Milk

    4.9oz All-Purpose Flour

    2.1oz Unsalted Butter

    0.5oz Lemon Juice

    0.2oz Baking Powder

    Pinch of Salt




  • Cups:

     

     

     

    1 cup of Fruit for every 2 people
    ( Slices )

    2 cups Sugar
    ( divided )

    1 cup Milk

    1 cup All-Purpose Flour

    0.25 cup Unsalted Butter

    1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

    1 tablespoon Baking Powder

    Pinch of Salt




 

 

 

Directions:


 

01 - Preheat the oven to 190C / 375F.

02 - Melt Butter in a 22x22cm / 9x9in baking dish.

03 - Bring 200gr / 7oz / 1 cup Sugar, Fruit Slices, and Lemon Juice to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly until softened and juice is extracted from Fruit. This should take about 5 minutes. Set aside.



04 - Using a stand mixer, combine Flour, 200gr / 7oz / 1 cup Sugar, Baking Powder, and Salt.

05 - Add Milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

06 - Pour the Batter into the baking dish without stirring, and then pour the Fruit Mixture over the Batter (do not stir).

07 - Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cool.





Notes:


 

- Cobbler can be topped with Ice Cream or extra Jam.
