French 3 Ingredient Chocolate Truffles Recipe
    Photo: Ruocaled

TRADITIONAL FRENCH RECIPE: Directly from France, this is probably the best Chocolate Truffle Recipe you'll ever find. Only 3 ingredients needed. Chocolate truffles are usually made with a chocolate ganache but you don't actually need it for these spherical shaped chocolate truffles.

While American truffles are half-oval-shaped, chocolate-coated truffle, a mixture of dark or milk chocolates with butterfat, and in some cases, hardened coconut oil, french Chocolate Truffles are simply made with fresh cream and chocolate, and then rolled in cocoa or nut powder.

    • Metric:

      400g Chocolate bars Milk chocolate
( or 2.5 cups of Chocolate Chips )

      300ml Fresh cream

      60g Cocoa powder
      ( finishing )

    • Imperial:

      14.10oz Chocolate bars Milk chocolate
( or 2.5 cups of Chocolate Chips )

      10.58oz Fresh cream

      2.11oz Cocoa powder
      ( finishing )

    • Cups:

About 2.5 Chocolate bars Milk chocolate
( or 2.5 cups of Chocolate Chips )

      1.5 cups Fresh cream

      About half cup Cocoa powder
      ( finishing )

    Directions:

01 - Break the Milk Chocolate bar into a heat-resistant bowl.

02 - Put the cream in a pan and heat it over low heat until just before boiling.

03 - Once the Cream is warm, pour it over the Milk Chocolate and mix using a spatula until the Milk Chocolate has fully melted and has become smooth and creamy.

04 - Wrap the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

05 - At this point the Cholocate will have almost solidified, so scoop a spoon of chocolate and roll it into bite-sized balls, and set aside. Repeat this until you have only truffles balls.

06 - One by one, transfer the Truffle balls into a plate containing Cocoa Powder and coat them by rolling them in it. Serve.

    Notes:

    - The Chocolate Truffle balls will melt easily when rolling them in your hands. It is recommended to roll them quickly by cooling your hands with ice water.

    - Better use a heat-resistant rubber spatula.

    - Cover tightly and store Chocolate Truffles in the fridge for 3-4 days.

These came out really good. A bit bitter for me but I'm not a great fan of chocolate. My kids told me they loved them though. So 5 stars.

Just tried this recipe and I think it's great. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a simple chocolate truffle recipe. Crushed banana chips or nuts are great when mixed with the melted chocolate.
